RECONVENED This meeting was called to order at the hour of 5:10 P.M. by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin with all members present as of the opening session. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Whipple moved that Service & Material Warrant Nos. 1865 payable to Michie City WARRANTS Publications Company in the total amount of $6,599.46 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that all bills payable from trust funds be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. GAMING APPLICATIONS Commissioner Peccole moved that inasmuch as there is a resolution limiting the number of Cinnabar gambling licenses issued, the application of Robert Restolin, James Pare and Guido Testolin Fremont Tavern Inc. (Cinnabar), 122 North 2nd Street for one "21" game and one Roulette for the fourth quarter of 1949 be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Santa Anita Turf Club Commissioner Bunker moved that the application of Dave Stearns, Same Stearns and Edward Margolis, Santa Anita Turf Club, 113 Fremont Street for one "21" game for the fourth quarter of 1949 be granted providing it is used in the same room where the Race Horse Book is conducted and that it be put into use on or before the end of this fourth quarter. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. NEW GAMING OR LIQUOR Commissioner Whipple moved that no applications for new gambling or liquor be considered APPLICATIONS only at the quarterly meeting set for that purpose or until the Board determines there is Time Considered a license available prior to the aforementioned meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. GAMING APPLICATION - Commissioner Whipple moved that the application of Norman Khoury, Khoury's Club Savoy, 116 Khoury's Club Savoy Fremont for 4 slot machines and 1 Race Horse Book for the 4th quarter of 1949 and the 3rd quarter of 1949, heretofore held in abeyance, be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Renewals The following applications for renewal of gaming licenses for the 4th quarter of 1949 were presented to the Board for their consideration: B & C SERVICE STATION BONANZA LIQUOR STORE COTTON CLUB DEAN'S OLD TIME FREEZE NEW VEGAS LANES TWIN LAKES FARM VIRGINIA'S CAFE WESTSIDE CAFE Vegas Sweet Shop Raymond Salmon Sam Taylor Vegas Sweet Shop Frank E. Belding & Edwin B. Radzweit M. I. Horgen Virginia Barrett David Winston Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved that the foregoing applications for gaming license be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. New locations Commissioner Whipple moved that the application of the Vegas Sweet Shop for 1 slot machine at McClures Service Station, 202 Garces and R. J. Cardinal and J. E. Sullivan for 1 slot machine at George Knipps Tire Shop, 10th & Fremont for the fourth quarter of 1949 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Change of Operator Commissioner Whipple moved that the application of H. R. Woodward, Signal Service Station , 2102 South 5th Street for 3 slot machines for the 4th quarter of 1949 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. LIQUOR APPLICATION Commissioner Peccole moved that the application of the Golden Nugget Partnership, 129 Golden Nugget Fremont for a Retail Tavern Liquor license for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters of 1949 to replace a Retail Cabaret liquor license heretofore issued, be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ACTING CITY MANAGER Commissioner Peccole moved that George 0. Treem be appointed Acting City Manager for an undetermined period of time at a salary of $700.00 per month. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
