AGREEMENT Commissioner Clark moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be Edward L. Burton authorized to sign an agreement with Edward L. Burton & Co & Co. re: handling of $125,000.00 Bond Issue for the Police Station $125,000.00 Police Emergency loan. Station Bond Issue Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Corradetti and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. GAMING APPLICATION At this time, a letter dated May 21, 1947 addressed to the Board of Commissioners from Dave Stearns requesting that his license for a Race Horse Book be transferred from 115 Fremont to 109 Apparently this is a typographical Fremont St. Thereafter Commissioner Clark moved that Dave error Stearns application be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following Helen vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Corradetti and His Honor City Clerk voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Clark moved that the application of Dave Stearns for one Race Horse Book, one Twenty-one Game and one Roulette Wheel at 109 Fremont St. be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Corradetti and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PETITION At this time the following petition signed by business men in that locality was presented to the Board. PETITION We, the undersigned retail merchants and professional men, doing business in the 500 to 700 block on East Fremont Street, Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby request that a maximum one hour parking limit be established And enforced between the 500 to 700 block on East Fremont St. This request is made in view of the fact of the number of business and offices in this block depending on drive-in trade has increased and that parking facilities are limited. Thereafter, the foregoing petition was referred to the Chief of Police for handling. BIDS-On Bathhouse Commissioner Clark moved that Mr. Stadelman and the City at Swimming Pool Manager contact the superior Construction Co. and Lembke Construction Co. to see if they can negotiate their bids submitted on construction of the bathhouses at the swimming pool, and report back on the meeting of the 26th. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Corradetti and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ORDINANCE NO. 331 An Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC POUND: First Reading PRESCRIBING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE POUND MASTER: FIXING THE FEES AND CHARGES TO BE COLLECTED BY HIM: AND DIRECTING THE DISPOSITION THEREOF: PROVIDING FOR THE REGISTRATION OF DOGS AND DOG KENNELS AND FIXING THE FEES THEREFOR: PROVIDING FOR THE VACCINATION OF DOGS AND CATS: PROVIDING FOR THE REDEMPTION SALE OR OTHER DISPOSITION OF DOGS OR OTHER ANIMALS IMPOUNDED: PROHIBITING CRUELTY TO ANIMALS: PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS THEREOF: REPEALING ORDINANCES Nos. 5, 12, 19, 51, 58, 63, and 101 AND ALL ORDINANCES PARTS OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH: OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO," was reported favorably to the Board by the Committee composed of Commissioners Baskin and Clark and read for a first time. Thereafter Commissioner Clark moved that the foregoing ordinance be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Corradetti and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ORDINANCE No. 332 This being the time for the Committee to report on proposed ordinance No. 332 entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION XXX, SECTION XXXIII, SECTION XXXVI, AS AMENDED, AND SECTION LXXXXIV, AS AMENDED, OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 170, OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, REGULATING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS: ESTABLISHING A CENTRAL TRAFFIC DISTRICT: AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE BREACH OF ANY OF THE RULES OR REGULATIONS REGARDING TRAFFIC IN THIS ORDINANCE PROVIDED, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NOS. 66, -68, -69, -86, -90, -94, -120, -124, -125, -127, -141, and -143, OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH," and said committee have reported that they are not ready to recommend passage of this ordinance at this time, and are holding it up for further study.
