Commissioner Jarrett moved the liquor application for 1st Qtr. 1954 of Ells­worth E. Baker and Paul E. H. Lavoie, Westside Shopping Center, 1315 North "D" Street, for Retail Beverage be approved in the same form and condition as in previous quarter. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the liquor application for change of ownership of Conrada Skipworth, Zarape Cafe, 1735 So. 5th Street for Restaurant Beverage be approved. Thrifty Drug Store Commissioner Sharp moved the liquor application of A. MacRitchie Thrifty Drug Stores Co., Inc., 317 Fremont, for Retail Liquor be approved. TAXI APPLICATIONS Commissioner Whipple moved the taxi application of the North Las Vegas Taxi 1st Qtr. 1954 Co., North Las Vegas, Nevada, for 1 renewal and 1 additional be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ORDINANCE NO. 585 Commissioner Bunker, member of the committee for recommendation on the pro- Firearms posed Firearms ordinance stated that the cooling off period in paragraph 1, Section 4 should be eliminated, paragraph 2, Section 4 should read legal voting age instead of 21 years, and there should be a clause added that no pistols should be displayed in any store or business window. He also requested that a section be added requiring the registration of all pistols purchased prior to the adoption of this ordinance within 30 days. Commissioner Jarrett, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Firearms ordinance, stated that he felt there should be a 24 hour waiting period. He would also like to see a clause whereby a person who wished to obtain a gun 2-3-54
