Sir: Based upon the report of Special Agent Parker and a letter from the Acting Governor of Arizona, as to the condition of the Hualpai Indians in Arizona, authority has been granted for you to expend a sum not exceeding $3,000.00, in the open market pur- chase of beef, flour, beans, salt, etc., at the lowest obtain- £ able rates for issue to these Indians. As the most of these Indians are located near Kingman, Arizona, and the citizens of that place having offered to furnish a building, free of cost, to store supplies in, and make issues from, you are directed to purchase the supplies delivered at that point, and to proceed tie re, as the occasion may require to pur­chase the siapplies and issue to the Indians, A.fter making the purchase of beef for these Indians, you are directed to report the price paid therefor, and also/4f it is possible to obtain beef in ©pen market for use at the school,
