Soror Vera Stewart, mother of Soror Sandra Stewart-Bass, is recovering from surgery. She is in Daniel Freeman Hospital at 333 North Prairie Avenue, Inglewood, California 90301 - Room number 554, bed #1. We wish Soror Vera a speedy recovery.
Honey Do William Rhoden, husband of our Soror Janet Rhoden, is home from the hospital. Well wishes may be sent to 1604 St. Katherine Circle, Las Vegas, NV 89117.

National Association of Social Workers named Soror Ina Dorman Nevada's 1999 Social Worker of the Year. We are so proud of you!
The Clark County School District Board of School Trustees approved the name John C. Bass Elementary School in honor of the husband of our Soror Sandra-Stewart Bass. This is a wonderful tribute to the memory of Honey Do John who passed away in September.

POET'S CORNER
The West Las Vegas Arts Center will present "The Poet's Corner" on June 18th at 7 p.m. at the West Las Vegas Arts Center 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Sorors Pendelita Toney and Ameenah Shafeeq are among the poets reading their works. Much of the poetry that will be performed is a result of the writing in the Poetry Workshop that is held at the center on Saturdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Anyone who writes poetry and would like to read his or her poetry is encouraged to attend.
