Sandy may wear a bathing cap during working hours ?╟≤ (not-really), but he wears another cap in his off time ... he is the coach of the first place state champion swim team -.the SANDPIPERS - a group of YOUNG PEOPLE RANGING IN AGE FROM 5 TO 19 YEARS. FOR 7 YEARS THEY HAVE HELD THE TITLE. ?╜ ?╜ Sandy began swimming early like most youngsters, but the similarity ended at 14 years when he took to dfving from the famous acupulco cliffs into the ocean. In 1950 Sandy moved to Las Vegas where he worked for various strip pools and as aquatic supervisor for the Las Vegas City Recreation Department for 6 years before joining the Sands Family. -30-
