SIP ® n Los Angeles, August 14, 1924 Kr, MoHamee has written Mr, Ealstod concerning our application to appropriate water developed by the artesian well recently brought in at Lae Vegas, and says in part, as follows* a control valve on the well so as to avoid a waste of water or any depletion of the artesian belt, A great portion of the water now flowing from the well is not applied to any beneficial use and cannot be until the land upon which it is intended to be applied is cleared and leveled for cropping purposes** I do not believe it would be advisable to attempt to control flow from this well and therefore, feel it very important that steps be taken immediately to improve land which we own at Las Vegas and use the surplus water for irrigation.
