CALL TO ORDER SENATE PRESIDENT ROMERO called the meeting to order at 6:17p.m. H. RECESS SENATE PRESIDENT ROMERO called an 8 minute recess to try to make quorum. ANNOUNCEMENTS STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT BOIXO announced that they are accepting bids from election groups to help run the Fall elections. If any one has a complaint about any of the office help a formal complaint sheet is being formed right now. Attended a meeting this morning and would like to let the Rebel Yell team up with the School of Communications, and resined the bill that kept the Rebel Yell separate. STUDENT BODY VICE PRESIDENT LAGOMARSINO announced that the Directors had received their evaluations. SENATOR SCHWARTZ announced that he has talked to people about joining his committee and has Senators Fergen, Wong, and Smith after he is sworn in as potential members for his committee. Page Two SENATE MINUTES 24-25 SENATOR VOLKERT announced that if he gets his new position as Health Liaison he will be stepping down from his position as Chair of Bylaws. SENATOR CAMPBELL announced that she has prepared a report but will hold onto it until the next meeting, and the members of her committee need to get together after the meeting to decide on a time to meet this week. SENATE PRESIDENT ROMERO announced for SENATOR FOX that her committee has a meeting scheduled for the coming week, and the agenda is quite lengthy. DIRECTOR WALLACE has book marks printing at Repro Graphics, and is looking into an electronic reader board for the Student Union. Also has been working on publicizing the positions that are open in student government. Working on publicity for voter registration, and will now start working on a booth for the rest of the orientations. DIRECTOR GREENHAULGH announced that everything is a go on the new telephone cards, the shuttle stop signs are completed. DIRECTOR JOHANNSSON announced that she is working with Director Wallace on voter registration for the Primary Election, and there will be an even bigger drive in the Fall. In order to get Residency you must be registered to vote in Nevada, so she will be working with the Residence Halls to get the Residents registered. Is working on getting Legislative Candidates on campus. DIRECTOR MANGUAL announced that his evaluation is not in with the others because he has not been in the office but has been in contact with Student Body Vice President Lagomarsino and Student Body President Boixo. DIRECTOR PHILLIPS has been updating files and doing revising. Distribution of forms for already recognized groups will be August 1. She is meeting with Senator Fox and Student Senate President Romero to revise some of the procedures on Tuesday morning. SENATE PRESIDENT ROMERO announced that he is looking into changing the meetings for the Fall. Any one who has questions about the Senate Resolution needs to talk to Senator Schwartz and be ready to make amendments to it if need be. Has a list of the Committees that are open for the Faculty Senate, a list will be distributed and during the week so that positions can be assigned at the next meeting. There are three vacant Senate seats one in the College of Health Sciences, one in the College of Science & Mathematics, and one in Student Development.
