September 23, 1992
TO: THETA THETA OMEGA
FROM: JOB CORP COMMITTEE
SUBJECT:
CHRISTMAS CHEER FOR CLEVELAND JOB CORP STUDENTS
The Committee met on Tuesday, September 22, 1992 to decide what to include in the Christmas box for the students.
After deliberating all summer, it was decided to send school supplies since this is something they can always use.
The following purchases have been made:
40 each of 40-page spiral ring notebooks
40 each Bic pens, blue
40 each Bic pens, black
80 #2 pencils
Each member is requested to contribute $1.00 each today to cover this purchase.
Wal-Mart has small, pocket sized solar computers with case on display at the Rainbow Blvd, store at $6.97/2 each per package. Forty packages would cost $278.80 amd twenty would cost $139.40. If we purchased twenty, the packages could be broken open to accommodate forty students. This means twenty of the students would not get the one year guarantee printed on the package.
If each member would contribute $11.00 each, no later than next month, we could buy 40 of these (if they are still available), Christmas wrapping paper and ribbons to make 40 packages containing these items to send to the students.
Another method of obtaining this item early is, if the Chapter will advance us $330.00 today and we will reimburse the Treasury when all. the money is collected next meeting.
Committee:
Sorors D. M. Johnson, Syble Johnson, Lillian Gat and Sylvia Speed.
