'Sing Out* Tuneful By George H?╜ Jackson revue, dominated by vdfoaliMng-and A new musical aptly titled "Sing Sennes Giro's. It was a gala occasion for, several reasons-?╟÷primarily the return of the play spot to its original name after being called Le Crazy Horse for, several years, The revue itself has an unusual approach, is devoted completely to singing and the format developed has a chorus line of boys with most of the featured and solo assignments falling to the distaff side. Needs Variety There is actually variety in the song selections, yet the revue suffers from a lack of overall variety. This was pointed up by the first nighter's acceptance of the kooky comedy song routines of Barbara Heller, and if a star is ever awarded in the cast it should go to her; She provides light moments and a bit of needed contrast. Donn Arden, who produced the revue for Sennes lists it as a musical martini and a salute to many of America's foremost song writers of the past decades. Songs from such well- known tunesmiths as Cole Porter, Harry Warren, Jimmy McHugh, Lerner .and Loew, Victor Herbert, George G e r s hwin, Jerome Kern, Rodgers and Hammerstein and others are worked into the proceedings. large Cast Arden has a large cast for his revue, which utilizes approximately 23 s e p a r a t e numbers, winding up with the audience participating in a songfest. In addition to Miss Heller the cast lias Peggy Sands, Gina Genardi, Teri Robin- son, Patrice Sanford, Kiki' Paige and Peggy Taylor in featured spots.
