M cN A M E E , A S S I S T A N T G E N E R A L A T T O R N E Y , N E V A D A Las Vegas , Nevada, August 10, 1934, Pupils Service Coismisalon of Nevada, Carson City, Nevada, Gentlemen: 1 enclose herewith amendment and supplement to schedule of rates and charges of Las Vegas Land and Water Company for water and water service in the City of Las Vegas, to become effective October 1, 1934, wherein the schedule for cooling water for refrigerator machines Is divided Into two categories— one there the water Is eolleeted, re-cooled and re-used, no change In ratal and the other Is for water which, after being passed through the machine, is wasted, the rate is fixed according to the size of the refrigerating machine. Also supplementing the present schedule by creating a monthly rate for water used for cooling roofs through sprinkler system. through tests actually made, we have determined that refrigerating machines using water for cooling and where the water runs direct from our mains through the machine and is wasted into the cesspool or sewer use the following amounts of water: One-half ton machines - 6 gallons per minute | 8,640 gallons per day? £59,200 gallons per month. One ton machines - 10 gallons per minute; 14,400 gallons per day; 432,000 gallons per month* 5h©re are some sixty-four services in Las Vegas having one-half to two ton machines, end which actually consume some 737,280 gallons of water per day, and that is over 1 0 of the total consumption for the City of Las Vegas.
