Las Vegas - February 3, 1945 W 5-6-1 L Mr. G-. F. Ashby: Your letter January 30th, File 218-64, concerning re-elaselfication of clerical positions in this office. As suggested in second paragraph I have written War Labor Board for information regarding the new wage bracket established for Nevada Utilities. Copy of my letter Is hereto attached. Regarding re-classification of positions suggested by traveling accountants I showbelow name, rate, present title and recommended title for the three positions in question; Name <3f Employee Rate Present Title Recommended Title Harry Stollstelmer #200 Checker Asst. Agent Helen Jean Smith 190 Asst.Agent Steno.Clerk Merle A . Brown 170 Steno.Clerk Checker The suggested change in title would entail no change in rates but merely a change in title to properly describe the duties performed by each of these positions. I do not find any exactly similar situation in this territory but the basis of comparison is afforded in the statement attached to Mr. Rouse’s letter July 17, 1944, to the War Labor Board; Mr. Stollstelmer’s duties as Assistant Agent would be similar to U.P.R.R. Cashier rated at #253.36. Miss Smith's duties would be similar to U.P.R.R. Clerk Steno #1 rated at #218.36. Mr. Brown’s duties as checker would be similar to U.P.R.R. Cashier Clerk rated at §193.36. Will advise you further as soon as I have an answer from the War Labor Board. WALTER R. BRACKEN Incl
