La s V e g a s L a n d a n d W a t e r c o m p a n y Pacific Electric Building F. A. WATERS, Agt. LOS ANGELES, CAL. LOS ANGELE®* CAL. ANO WALTER R. BRACKEN, VlCE-PRES. & AGT, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA LAS VEGAS« NEV* Las yegas, January 17 th, 1920* Mr. J. Ross Clark, President, Las Yegas Land & Water Co*, Los Angeles, California. Dear Sir:- I noticed today passing through the Store Dept. R.R.Company* s requisition lo. 5*»§1 made January 13, 1920 eoTering 2600 ft. of Redwood pipe, for the repair of line from Springs to town. This amount of pipe, as I understand it, is only enough to rebuild the line part way, and I really think we are making a very grave mistake in taking two bites at this cherry, as there should be at this time enough Redwood pipe ordered to finish up the entire line from end of the present Redwood pipe to the intake. By doing this, we eliminate all of our trouble for the next twenty-five years, and it will also give us sufficient pressure which we must have at all times to allay the fears of the City Council in reference to fires here in Las Yegas. If we have to put up this summer with the same troubles we had last year, I haven’t any doubt at all but what they will have ordinances passed within our incorporated limits requiring us to do certain things in the way of more and better pressure for fire purposes, for we must at all times have the full head of both springs to have at least 25 to 30 lbs. pressure, and if we can always show this amount of pressure I am positive we will have no trouble with the fire department. There are at present leaks in the cemented line which, while not of very grave importance at this time, are liable to break out at any moment, and when they do they are much harder to repair than the vitrified pipe that was uncemented, so I want to go on record at this time as making a very urgent request to have the pipe line replaced with wooden pipe the entire distance, and not part of the distance, §§ this 2600 ft. would only do* Yours truly, Yice Pres. & Agent.
