    After considerable discussion His Honor Mayor Cragin stated that the Board would give this mat­ter consideration and would direct the legal department to draw up an ordinance covering this type of business. MINUTES Commissioner Baskin moved that the minutes of November 5, 1948 be corrected as follows: The committee on proposed ordinance No. 373 relative to the Solicitation of Funds in the City of Las Vegas, composed of Commissioners Baskin and Clark reported that the ordinance in its present form was not acceptable, and recommended that interested parties meet with the City Attorney to see if an ordinance could be prepare to meet with the approval of all concerned. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. Thereafter Commissioner Baskin moved that the minutes of November 5, 1948 as corrected and the minutes of November 10, 1948 be approved by reference and the Mayor and City Clerk author­ized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. SERVICE & Commissioner Clark moved that Service & Material Warrants Nos. 1673 and 1675 to 1677 inclusive MATERIAL in the sum of $19,222.09 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. WARRANTS Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. PAYROLL WARRANTS Commissioner Clark moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1670 and 1679 to 1689 inclusive in the net sum of $27,200.44 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. AUCTION SALES - Commissioner Baskin moved that the City Manager be directed to have the Police Department Investigation investigate auction sales being conducted in the City of Las Vegas to ascertain if these sales are being carried on in violation of Ordinance No. 368. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore & Whipple. AGREEMENT - Commissioner Clark moved that the agreement dated March 25, 1947 between the City of Las Fire Bell Vegas and the Hotel Last Frontier for use of the old fire station bell be approved and the Hotel Last Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Frontier Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. LIQUOR APPLICATION Charles M. Travis Commissioner Clark moved that the application of Charles M. Travis for a retail package liquor license at 831 South 5th Street for the fourth quarter of 1948 be tabled. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. GAMING The following renewal and additional gaming applications for the fourth quarter of 1948 were APPLICATIONS presented to the Board for their consideration: 4th Qtr. Paul's Cafe Nick Coronios 124 1/2 North 1st 2 slots Mike's Liquor Store M. H. Gordon 106 Fremont 1 slot Las Vegas Club J. Kell Houssels 23 Fremont 1 Faro Bank El Cortez Hotel El Cortez Hotel Inc. 6l2 Fremont 1 Craps Thereafter Commissioner Baskin moved that the foregoing applications be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THAT IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL TO MAKE FALSE, MIS- 374 LEADING OR UNFOUNDED REPORTS TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, OR TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY 2nd Reading OF LAS VEGAS; PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO, was read in full to the Board for a second time. Thereafter Commissioner Baskin moved that Ordinance No. 374 be adopted on its second reading. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple. ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE DEFRAUDING OF AN INNKEEPER AND OTHER PERSONS 375 TO BE A CRIME; PROVIDING FOR THE PUNISHMENT OF VIOLATIONS THEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR 2nd Reading PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, was read in full to the Board for a second time. Thereafter Commissioner Clark moved that Ordinance No. 375 be adopted on its second reading. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Moore and Whipple.
