292 GAMING APPLICATION Commissioner Whipple moved that the application of M. B. Hicks & H.C. Badger, Club Savoy Club Savoy, 116 Fremont for one additional roulette wheel for the third quarter of 1948 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. PROPOSED REAL ESTATE BROKERS The committee composed of Commissioners Moore and Whipple on the proposed real ordinance estate brokers and salesmen ordinance asked for additional time before reporting. RELOCATION OF SIDEWALK - Commissioner Whipple moved that the following recommendation of the Planning Desert Plaza Commission dated September 8, 1948 relative to the relocation of sidewalk, Harold Stocker Desert Plaza, be approved: OFFICE OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION September 8, 1948 Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners War Memorial Building Las Vegas, Nevada Re: Relocation of Sidewalk Desert Plaza Gentlemen: At a regular meeting of the Joint Planning Commission held August 31, 1948, Mr. Harold Stocker appeared and asked permission to relocate the sidewalk as approved on his original plot plan for Desert Plaza. Mr. Stocker proposed the elimination of a planting strip with the construction of a six (6) foot sidewalk directly in back of the curb. After a general discussion and consideration of all data, the Planning Commission recommended that this proposed sidewalk be approved. CODIFICATION OF Commissioner Whipple moved that the Board order the codification of the ordin- ORDINANCES ances and that the agreement dated August 30, 1948 between Michie City Publications Company and the City of Las Vegas relative to the codification of ordin- ances be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. PROPOSED RACE HORSE WIRE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, SERVICE ORDINANCE AS AMENDED, 12 AND 14, AS AMENDED, OF ORDINANCE No. 325 OF THE CITY OF IAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT GAMING AND OPERATION OF SLOT MACHINES IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING A LICENSE THERE­FOR; REGULATING THE SAME; FIXING THE AMOUNT OF LICENSE FEES; PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF; REPEALING ORDINANCES NO. 77, 82, 88, 103, 115, 165, 245, 271, 287, AND 319, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO;" RE­PEALING SUBSECTION 77 OF SECTION 8 OF ORDINANCE NO. 244 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 359, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO, was read to the Board by title and referred to a committee composed of Commissioners Moore and Whipple for report. There being no further business to come before the meeting Commissioner Whipple moved that this meeting adjourn until September 22, 1948. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote:
