Proposed Ordinances read by title at regular meeting of Board held July 7, 1948 Parking Meter Ord, Driveway Ord., Fire Prevention Ord., and Ord, amending portion of #349. Shirley Ballinger /s_________ Shirley Ballinger, City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned, Mayor Commissioners and City Manager of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby admit due service of the foregoing Notice of Special Meeting: E. W. Cragin /s______________ _________Pat Clark /s______ Reed Whipple /s_______________________________________________ Robert T. Moore /s__________ ___________________________ Las Vegas, Nevada July 13, 1948 CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING This special meeting was called to order by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin at the hour of 5:00 P.M. with the following members present: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple; City Manager J. M. Murphy, City Attorney C. Norman Cornall and City Clerk Shirley Ballinger. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. ORDINANCE NO. 354 At this time Ordinance No. 354 relating to the installation of Parking Parking Meter Meters, was reported on favorably by Commissioners Clark and Whipple 1st Reading with the following recommended changes: 1. Section 6. (a) Said parking meter shall be operated in said parking meter zone every day between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 6:00 o'clock P.M., 2. Section 6. (b) Parking or standing a vehicle in a designated space in a parking meter zone shall be lawful for twelve (12) minutes or more with a maximum of sixty minutes, and upon deposit of a one (l) one-cent coin of the United States of America for twelve (12) minutes, or of a one (1) five-cent coin of the United States of America for sixty (60) minutes in all parking meter zones. 3. Section 8. (d) Each such owner or operator may within twenty-four (24) hours of the time when such notice was attached to such vehicle, pay to the police Department of the City of Las Vegas as a penalty for and in full satisfaction of such violation, the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) for the first offense, Two Dollars ($2.00) for the second offense, and Three Dollars ($3.00) for the third and each subsequent offense thereafter. 4. Section 9. COLLECTIONS It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to designate some member or members of the Police Department, who shall be bonded, Thereafter the foregoing ordinance was read in full to the Board for the first time. Commissioner Whipple moved that the foregoing Ordinance be approved on its first reading with the above mentioned changes to be included. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, hone. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. ORDINANCE NO. 355 At this time Ordinance No. 355 prescribing the fees for driveway permits Driveway was reported on favorably by Commissioners Clark and Moore with the 1st Reading following recommended changes. 1. Section 2. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 343 is hereby amended to read as follows:
