VARIANCE APPLICATIONS Public Hearing Howard Burgess This being the time set for the public hearing on the denial of the application of Howard Burgess for variances to permit the following uses: 1) Construct and maintain a dormitory for men at 213 North 2nd Street. 2) Construct and maintain a trailer park north of Bonanza Road, south of Marble Manor and His Honor asked if there was anyone present who wished to protest these applications for variance. Mrs. Alice Buntin, Mr. W.W. Cantrell and Mrs. Mary Nettles voiced their objections to the construction of a dormitory at 213 North 2nd Street. Howard W. Cannon, property owner in this area, stated that he was not opposed to the construction of a dormitory at this location. Thereafter the matter was referred to Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett for investigation and recommendation. Commissioner Bunker moved the applications of Howard Burgess to construct and maintain a dormitory for men at 213 North 2nd and a trailer park north of Bonanza Road, south of Marble Manor and west of H Street be deferred until June 17, 1953. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Peccole. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, the meeting adjourned. west of H Street APPROVED Mayor 5-29-53
