Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Leona Grundy for a Restaurant Beverage License at the Chili Hut, 1608 Fremont be approved as recommended by the Police Department, and the Supervisor of License and Revenue author­ized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Edward Levinson for gaming li­cense for two (2) additional 21 games at the Fremont Hotel, 200 Fremont be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for permits for Charitable Solicitation, as recommended by the Solicitations Review Board, be approved and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the permits: AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY LADIES GUILD OF FAITH - COMMUNITY CHURCH GIRLS SENIOR SCOUTS TROOP #47 CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL - WOMEN'S AUXILIARY NEVADA STATE NURSES ASSN. DISTRICT #3 DAUGHTERS OF THE UNION VETERANS LAS VEGAS SHRINE CLUB LIONS FORTY-NINERS CLUB DESERT INN WOMEN' S GOLF ASSOCIATION Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Whipple moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 8648 through 9209 in the net amount of $77,735.39 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Fountain moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 10519 to 11505 inclusive in the total amount of $123,617.13 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Fountain moved the minutes of May 1 and 8, 1957 be approved by reference and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6l0 ALSO KNOWN AS THE "SPECIALIZED ELECTRICAL ORDINANCE" BY DELETING THE PROVISIONS REQUIRING AN ANNUAL RENEWAL OF JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN AND ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE CERTI­FICATES; BY MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR A MASTER ELECTRICIAN TO EMPLOY AND UNLI­CENSED JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIANS; PROVIDING FOR REVOCATION OF CERTIFICATES; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Fountain and Whipple was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Whipple moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 743 be adopted. Commissioner Fountain moved that James H. Down, Jr. be reappointed as a mem­ber of the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas for a period of four (4) years from the expiration of his term on June 6, 1957. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE LICENSING OF COLLECTION AGENCIES, COLLECTION AGENTS AND OTHER PERSONS ENGAGED IN SUCH ACTIVITY; DEFINING COLLECTION AGENCIES AND COLLECTION AGENTS; PROVIDING FOR INVES­TIGATIONS OF APPLICANTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND RE­PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Whipple for recom­mendation.
