Inter-Department Correspondence To: From: Subject: Bill DeAngelis Brian Bartholomew Scenic Information Date^ Jan. 24, 1978 * Following your request for alterations and/or amendments to scenery to be stated in memorandum form, the following have been discussed with Donn: 1. The moon to be redesigned since the loading niche is now found J^~ to be substantially smaller than previously thought and since the load factor on the tracks is too low to support the existing design. Whatever design is settled upon will be cued ahead on its track to absorb some of the 5.00 minutes estimated time for the carrier to move from niche to stage. 2. Mobile aircraft loading steps deleted from props list on the understanding that the jet being built will have its own, similar to the original drawings. 3. Additional scenic design necessary to left & right spiral steps on side revolves: This to accommodate "telephones" section of opening Reno Airport Song. Donn had not realized that in taking out telescopic control towers we had taken out everything but the spiral steps. We, (Keaton and myself) had misunderstood Donn and assumed "telephones" section would take place in side stages against blacks! 4. Modification to "Spider Kelly's" exterior balconies on Barbary Coast Street Scene to permit access for dancers/singers to those second levels - at this point, I don't believe this should alter costs by any significant amount. 5. Film screen for "Fred Astaire" film clips will fly in on same pipe as the 8 photo blow-ups of his more renowned dancing stars - This could effectively simplify rigging in this area, 6. We need a practical, tab curtain for the saloon interior proscenium. 7. We need blacks to work with the. Barbary Coast Street Scene & Saloon interior. This could be taken care of by legs No. 3 and Border No. 3 if border could be 30f?╓¬O" deep and not its specified 12f.0'\ We had intended using the sheers but Donn is reluctant to see them for what may be the fifth time. #?╟≤ BB:cd Moeu Hack fo k i/uW k wmav &im MicU>, bu fkae Uf $de $h& <K meow ?Σ≤?╜^*M,**tog J^yUL^a^d faMf?? untU 1 mwutte.liack oM h ku ucbaaw a^4 claw sfaac (fdl*tti*<sf.
