I have increased from 1 year to 3 years> We have been doing your Spring Fest for so many years and sometimes it is very hard to contact the person in charge of Student Government, I thought the possibility of a 3 year contract would be beneficial for each of us. As stated in Item#Z future dates would be set in agreement to both parties. You will find enclosed our contract for the 1 993 UNLV Spring Fest. BOX 160 NAMPA, ID. 83653-0160 AMUSEMENT CONTRACT CITY: LAS VEGAS COUNTY: CLARK STATE: NEVADA For valuable consideration, this agreement is entered into between INLAND EMPIRE SHOWS, INC., an Idaho Corporation, hereinafter known as INLAND, and UNLV-CSUN hereinafter known as SPONSOR. WITNESSETH: (1) INLAND agrees to furnish to SPONSOR a combination of rides, shows, and food and game concessions, known as INLAND EMPIRE SHOWS, INC. and are to exhibit the same at THOMAS & MACK (TROPIC AN A & STEWART PARKING LOT1 , location which is hereby suitable to both parties, for a period of 5 days, commencing on or about APRIL 7-11, 1993. INLAND will be allowed to OCCUPY above location no later than APRIL 5, 19£3, and WILL VACATE above location no later than APRIL 12, 1993. / (2) This contract is entered into for a period o f ^ year(s), for year(s) of 1993 . ANY CHANGE IN THIS CLAUSE IS TO BE AGREED TO BY BOTH PARTIES. 5) SPONSOR agrees that there shall be no other RIDES, SHOWS, CONCESSIONS, CARNIVALS and/or CIRCUSES in said vicinity for a period of ( ^ least 30 DAYS prior to said event. SHOULD THIS OCCUR BEYOND THE KNOWLEDGE AND/OR CONTROL OF SPONSOR THIS CONTRACT SHALL BECOME RENEGOTIABLE! (6) INLAND reserves the right to locate all RIDES, SHOWS, and CONCESSIONS under its management within the area agreed to by both parties as MIDWAY AREA. (7) INLAND reserves the right to subcontract RIDES, SHOWS, and/or CONCESSIONS as needed. (8) SPONSOR agrees to distribute advertising materials as supplied and instructed by INLAND. SPONSOR agrees to try and get press releases in paper and/or on radio prior to INLAND'S opening. The wording on the 100 posters you will recieve will be: (PLEASE ENTER THE CORRECT WORDING OR ANY CORRECTIONS ON A SEPERATE SHEET OF PAPER WITH RETURNED CONTRACT!) (9) INLAND will supply power for all of its rides, shows, and concessions. If local concessions need power, it can be supplied by INLAND at $10.00 per day, per concession! (10) SPONSOR will provide reasonable access to drinking water. (11) SPONSOR agrees to furnish any license or permits that may be required. (12) In consideration of this agreement, SPONSOR is to receive: 25% (TWENTY FIVE PERCENT^ of the ADJUSTED gross received from the ON SITE SALE of admission tickets to the various RIDES and SHOWS. / ) SPONSOR is to receive of ADVANCE SALE TICKETS sold by A* /SPONSOR. IF ADVANCE SALE TICKETS AND MONEY ARE NOT ACCOUNTED FOR IN # INLAND'S OFFICE PRIOR TO OPENING ON FIRST DAY OF EVENT, SPONSOR WILL RECEIVE 1/2 (ONE-HALF) OF THE PERCENTAGE AGREED FOR ADVANCE SALE! APPROVAL OF MINUTES NO. 23-10 Motion to approve by Senator Fisher, seconded by Senator Smith. Senator Smith moves to change page two EXECUTIVE BOARD DIRECTOR to ELECTIONS BOARD DIRECTOR. Move into a vote. Motion passes 12-0-1. Senator Yohe abstaining. IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS VICE PRESIDENT HELD states that the will be coming up before the committee soon so you should make a point to attend the classes of the people that were nominated. The committee will be meeting every Friday at 2:30 until a decision is made. Senator Sabatini asks where the meeting will be? SENATE PRESIDENT PRO-TEMPORE ROMERO states that the people that will be appointed tonight need to stay after the meeting to get some information. SENATE PRESIDENT BENNEMAN no announcements. V. BOARD & COMMITTEE REPORTS CSUN BUSINESS MANAGER SNYDER hands out the latest budgets and states that there will be a revised version on Monday because there have been changes. Senator Romero asks if the balance for NSA is inclusive of the $5,000 for the lobbyist? STUDENT SERVICES states that there will be a board meeting next SENATE MINUTES NO. 23-11 page three V. BOARD & COMMITTEE REPORTS CONT. week. We will be revising the book exchange. The Campus Directory should have been sent out today. The attorneys are working out well. We will be starting a faculty notebook for students to come in and log complaints or any good things they have to say. Senator Romero states that he is concerned about the arrival of the Campus Directory. Senator Turner states that he has heard some questions about Career Planning and Placement charging companies to participate in Career Day. Senator Romero states that he didn't know they were charging companies to participate. APPROPRIATIONS BOARD DIRECTOR FINMARK congratulates Senator Turner on all the work he did during Career Day. She states that she received a funding request from the Student Chemical Society and they want to take a trip to a winery to learn about the fermenting process. She has a problem funding trips. She will be putting together a proposal to only fund events on campus. There were 6-7 funding requests approved today so they will be on the next agenda. Senator Yan arrives. Senator Sabatini asks if there has been an increase in funding requests for trips since we have been approving them? ORGANIZATIONS BOARD INTERIM DIRECTOR MARSHALL states that there is a board meeting tomorrow. We are working on a new system for organizing the mail boxes. There has been some confusion in getting the organizations list out but we are working it out. RESIDENCE HALL LIASON MARSHALL states that there will be a new member appointed as the liason if he is appointed to the position of Organizations Board Director. Senator Yohe asks if he approached the Elections Board about getting a booth in the Dining Commons? Point of Information from Vice President Held that she is not here because she is giving all the elections workers breaks. HEALTH ADVOCATE AVILA states that there will be a meeting for the Student Health Insurance Committee this Friday at 2 p.m. She would like a student representative at the meeting and she would like to see a show of hands of who will be there. Senator Cromer asks what time the meeting will be? Senator Stephenson states that he can be there for the meeting. Senator Yohe asks if there will be employees of Blue Cross/Blue Shield at the meeting? Senator Turner asks if there are any qualified applicants for the SHAC position? How do the members of the Executive Board feel about the position? Vice President Held, Senate President Benneman, and Senate President Pro-Tempore are all in favor of the position. Senator Yohe asks if there is a stipend for the position? Could we get a copy of the budget for the Student Health Center? Point of Information from Senator Fisher. Point of Inquiry form Senator Yohe where are all the directors? SENATE RULES COMMITTEE CHAIR ROSENTHAL nothing at this time. CONSTITUTION REVISION COMMITTEE CHAIR SMITH would like to talk with the board after the meting. SENATE BYLAWS COMMITTEE CHAIR ROMERO states that there are several bylaws floating around and he is trying to get it straightened out. STUDENT CAMPUS SAFETY AWARENESS COMMITTEE CHAIR STEPHENSON nothing at this time. VI. SENATE COMMITTEE & EXECUTIVE BOARD NOMINATIONS None at this time. VIII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Motion to move out of the order of the day back into Board & Committee reports by Senator Fisher, seconded by Senator Yohe. Move into a vote. Motion passes 12-0-0. ELECTIONS BOARD DIRECTOR SPRAY states that the election is running smooth. The workers are doing a great job. There are only two dollars in fines so far. We will be having a board meeting Thursday. Senator Fisher asks why she chose not to set up a booth in the dining commons when approached by the Residence Hall Liason? Senator Turner returns. Senator Yohe asks if she is a member of the Young Democrats on campus? Which group on campus does she feel if the most biased? Most people running elections don't let the political parties chose the questions for the debate. Any party should not have access to election material. I heard about the debate and I thought that it showed a lack of judgment on your part. To allow someone that sort of power showed a great lack of j udgment Elections Director Spray's reply was not intelligible on the recording. Senator Yohe states that he is only accusing her of using poor judgment. Where did she get the 10 issues that are on the ballot? Why was the ballot such a mystery? Why wasn't there a copy of the ballot in the office? Elections Director Spray's reply was not intelligible on the recording. Senator Smith states that he looked at the ballot before Senator Yohe came in the office. What happened to that copy? Senator Turner states that he would like to record to reflect everything that was said between Senator Yohe and Elections SENATE MINUTES NO. 23-11 page three V. BOARD & COMMITTEE REPORTS CONT. Director Spray. Senator Yohe states that the ballot questions were poorly done. The debate was a scandal. He doesn't even want to be a part of the elections. Elections Director Spray states that she tried to work with her board members to get the questions for the ballot done but only two members are pulling their weight. Motion to move back into the order of the day by Senator Sabatini, seconded by Senator Romero. Motion passes 12-0-1. Senator Turner abstaining. VII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Motion to hear all the Business & Economics nominees to speak for five minutes followed by unlimited question and answer by Senator Fisher, seconded by Senator Sabatini. Senator Sabatini adds followed by a roll call vote. Senator Romero would like to move to another college because Brian Saliba will be late. Senator Stephenson asks why we can't wait? Senator Fisher withdraws the motion. Senator Rosenthal asks how much time he dedicates to all of the organizations he is involved with? Senator Fisher asks when he learned there was an open seat? How many Senate meetings have you attended? Senator Romero asks how many Senate meetings after he filed has he been to? Senator Yohe asks what are some of the concerns of the Engineering students?
