I agree.Joseph E. Connor, 1892-1952, graduated from Emer- son College in 1921 and, after six years at the Uni- versity of Tennessee, returned to Emerson in the Department of Speech. Here over a period of twenty- four years, he was a beloved professor of successive classes of students, to whom he was not only an in- spiring teacher but a wise counselor and loyal friend. The Joseph E. Connor Award was instituted in 1954 to honor the memory of this great teacher and to recognize outstanding excellence in speech and the communicative arts.
