Sisterly Yours
Committee
Purpose:
To Increase the bond between sorors within the chapter, promote sisterly relations, and establish a stepping team for Theta Theta Omega.
To establish the following:
Sisterly Relations: A stronger bond will be established between all sorors in the chapter, sorors new to the Las Vegas community, and the matriculation from undergraduate to the graduate chapter will be increased
Public Awareness: TTO will be more I recognized for their involvement in community events. The community | will become more aware of the services offered by TTO and the standards, programs and service will rise to the level of our founders. I
Step Team: To utilize the expertise and stepping skills of all Sorors. This will be demonstrated in various I Las Vegas events. Stepping will showcase the unity within our sisterhood of AKA.
Historical Relevance Of Sisterhood in AKA
Sisterhood is to promote unity and friendship among sorors which will alleviate problems concerning chapter members.
Sisterhood is to maintain a progressive interest in alfl programs of the chapter.
Stepping in sisterhood began in the mid-twentieth century with fraternities and sororities developing steps, songs, calls and passing them down to brothers and sisters.
Sisterhood is the blending of unique souls to form a complete spirit with a common bond of love, caring and secrets known by no other.
Objectives
I.
To enhance social outlets for sisters in TTO.
II.
To continue the tradition passed down by generations of historical black sororities and fraternities.
III.
To create a greater bond for all sorors within
TTO and the sorority as a whole.
IV.
To increase the retention and reclaiming of
all sorors.
Chapter Benefits
I. Motivate sorors to participate in other
activities and committees within the chapter.
U. Increase chapter revenue underlie guidance of the Ways and Means Committee.
III.
Promotes fellowship that builds morale which creates a loving and sisterly organization.

Relieve the Hodegos of some responsibilities since
Chapter membership has increased tremendously in

All sorors are invited to join the committee. Planning and facilitating all activities will be just as important as “stepping”.

Q: Why is there a need for the Sisterly Yours Committee?
A: It is believed that there is
division in the chapter. Thus, creating a need for opportunities that will bring sorors in the chapter together. This committee is designed to resolve issues that demote sisterhood.
Q: Does there need to be a
Sisterly Yours Committee, or could it fit under another program?
A: All of the programs within the
chapter have been reviewed, and there is no existing program that encompasses all activities of this magnitude that will be provided by the Sisterly Yours Committee.
Q: Should the activities provided |
by the Sisterly Yours committee fall under the Hodegos’s duties and responsibilities?
A: This committee will alleviate
some of the duties of the Hodegos due to the growing membership of TTO. In activities will be Wormal.
Q: Will membership in the Sisterly Yours
Committee preclude members from being active in other committees in the chapter?
A: No, this committee is intended to increase Q:
participation in committees throughout the chapter.

A: No, the premise of this committee is to
formalize various activities that will promote Q: sisterly relations. As a result, stepping is just one of the many ways in which this committee attempts to build a bigger, better and stronger bond.

A: No, the Sisterly Yours Committee will be
participating in various community events such as: High School Outreach programs, Community Awareness Forums, Nursing q:

A Yes, undergraduate sorors will be able to participate in activities of the Sisterly Yours Committee with the exception of stepping.
What will be included in the budget? Registration fees, costumes, props, travel expenses, supplies for various activities, etc.
Will this committee require a large amount of money from the chapter budget?
No, this committee is projected to generate funds.
Where will the money generated by the committee be distributed?
Funds generated will be deposited into TTO’s fundraising account.
How can I be apart of the Sisterly Yours committee?
As a member of TTO, you can join the committee to provide ideas, suggestions and feedback.
Q: Will this new committee increase chapter
dues?
A: No, in fact the committee will serve as an
additional source of revenue for the chapter by attracting other sorors with diverse interest to the chapter (more members=more money) and by the proceeds from various events/activities put on by the committee.
