    363 NOTICE OF CLAIM The Commission considered the claim of Mrs. Lois Gluck for personal injury to her left Mrs. Lois Gluck hip when she slipped and fell when stepping out of her car adjacent to 729 South 5th Street on February 1, 1959. It was recommended that this claim be denied. Denied Commissioner Sharp moved that the claim of Mrs. Lois Gluck for personal injury be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SALVATION ARMY SHELTER The Commission considered the request for authorization to advertise for bids to be opened Moving & Construct Floor April 15, 1959, for the moving of the Salvation Army Shelter Building and to construct Slab floor slab and footings at the new location. Estimated cost of the moving is $3,400; estimated cost of construction of floor slabs and footings is $1,845. Half of these costs will Request to Advertise be assumed by the County. for Bids to be opened April 15, 1959 Commissioner Sharp moved that authorization be given to advertise for bids to be opened April 15, 1959, for the moving of the Salvation Army Shelter and to construct floor slab Authorized and footings at the new location. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SALVATION ARMY LEASE The Commission considered a request that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the Salvation Army Lease for City property generally located at 605 North "A" Street to Approved be used for the Salvation Army Shelter. This lease has been signed by the proper Salvation Army Officials in San Francisco and returned with a check for $1.00 as per terms of the lease. Commissioner Fountain moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the lease with the Salvation Army for City property generally located at 605 North "A" Street to be used for the Salvation Army Shelter. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. BID OPENING NO. 59.10 This being the time heretofore set for the bid opening of Bid No. 59-10 for Piping at Piping at Golf Course Golf Course Reservoir; Part A. Pump House, Cast Iron Piping, Part B. Asbestos Cement Reservoir Water Pipe, the following bids were received: Referred to Public Works J. A. Tiberti Construction Co. (Parts A & B) $ 12,765.00 Longley Construction Co., Inc. (Parts A & B) 10,217.50 Commissioner Sharp moved that the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Director of Public Works for study and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. BID OPENING NO. 59-11 This being the time heretofore set for the bid opening of Bid No. 59-11 for Emulsified Emulsified Asphalt for Asphalt for Slurry, bids were received as follows: Slurry H. W. Polk $ 9,000.00 Referred to Public Works Palomar Oil & Refining Corp. 8,675.00 American Bitumuls & Asphalt Co. 8,575.00 Douglas Oil Co. of California 8,575.00 Commissioner Whipple moved that the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Director of Public Works for study and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. BID OPENING NO. 59-12 This being the time heretofore set for the bid opening of Bid No. 59-12 for Type 2 Type 2 Aggregate Aggregate, bids were received as follows: Referred to Public Works Item 1 Item 2 Ideal Asphalt Paving Co. BID OPENING NO. 59.13 This being the time heretofore set for the bid opening of Bid No. 59-13 for (a) Chain Link Chain Link Fence; Animal Fence at Animal Shelter and (b) Chain Link Fence at Golf Course Reservoir, bids were Shelter & Golf Course received as follows: Reservoir Fencing, Inc. PUBLIC HEARING This being the time heretofore set for the public hearing in regard to the Proposed Street Proposed Street Name Name Changes, and there being no objections to these proposed changes, Commissioner Changes Fountain moved that the following Order be adopted: Order Adopted 4-1-59
