Los Angeles, June 17, IS54. 1-7334 MEMO Mr. Beinhardt: WM. R. JUN 17 1954 With further reference to my memo to you of Juhe 16th relative to payment by LVL&W Co. to City of Las Vegas for Business License for the Third Quarter - 1954; Mr. C. M. Cory contacted Mr. Hawkins, Asst, List. Attorney at Las Vegas. Mr. Hawkins stated LVL&W Co. should pay the fee. When LVL&W closes out its business to the Water District, then application for refund should be made to the City by LVL&W and at the same time furnish a copy of the order from the Commission which authorized LVL&W to discontinue service to the City of Las Vegas. Mr. Hawkins stated they will then rule that a refund is in order. Unless you instruct otherwise, Mr. Maag will proceed on this basis. However, as business license fee is not delinquent until July 10th, Mr. Maag will hold up delivery of the check in payment of the fee until the last day. L. C. C. 0 /
