ZAUGG TRACT & CITY ZONING Commissioner Whipple moved that no action on rezoning of the Zaugg Tract and ' other properties of the City be taken until a Planning Commission has been appointed and a Planning Engineer hired and a set up on the whole area has been made with regard to street plans. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS AND At this time a recommendation of the City Clerk regarding the amending of Solicitors, Ped- ITINERANT MERCHANTS dlers and Itinerant Merchants ordinances was read to the Board, as approved by the City ORDINANCES Manager. Commissioner Peccole moved the City Attorney draw up a new ordinance. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioners Peccole and Whipple agreed to serve on this committee. ZAUGG TRACT PUBLIC HEARING Commissioner Peccole moved the public hearing on the rezoning and building restrictions in the Zaugg Tract set for July 18, 1951 be tabled. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. TAXI CABS The Clerk was instructed to notify the local taxicab companies to install governors on their taxis with a maximum speed of 35 mph. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker REGISTRATION OF CITY Commissioner Jarrett moved that all City Employees be required to register and have iden- EMPLOYEES tification cards made up with photograph and finger prints, and be required to take a loyalty oath. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. LIQUOR STORES Commissioner Peccole moved that package liquor stores be notified and warned not to serve liquor on the premises by the drink or allow customers to buy hard liquor and mix with other beverages on the premises, and if they are found in violation their license will be subject to revocation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. NAVAL ARMORY Commissioner Jarrett moved that the City Engineer be instructed to work up a plan with the Commander of the Naval Armory on the application to the Armory for a road to make con- nection from 2nd Street to North 5th Street. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. TWA & UNITED AIRLINES Commissioner Peccole moved that letters as sent by the Chamber of Commerce be sent to the SERVICE proper authorities on the request for additional service of TWA and United Airlines from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and the hearing requested to be held in Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. WATER DISTRICT Commissioner Peccole moved the Board request the Congressional delegation to expend influence on the General Services Administration to immediately approve the interium water proposal before them which will allow the Colorado River Commission to sell water to the Las Vegas Valley Water District. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Whipple moved Service and Material Warrants Nos. 2124 to 2129 inclusive in WARRANT the total amount of $46,601.41 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker.
