District of Nevada, to the City of Las Vegas, as described in Parcel 1 by Document 89555 in Book 108 of Official Records, recorded September 21, 1956 in the Office of the County Recorder, Clark County, Nevada, thence South 0°45'44" East along the East line thereof a distance of 212.81 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing South 0°45'44" East along the said East line a distance of 609.84 feet; thence North 88°52'16" West a distance of 478.63 feet; thence along a tangent curve to the left with a radius of 120.0 feet, through an angle of 10°13'39" an arc length of 21.43 feet; thence North 0°45'44" West parallel with the East line of Hyde Park No. 1 aforementioned a distance of 611.75 feet; thence South 88°52'16" East a distance of 308.00 feet; thence South 1°07'44" West a distance of 16 feet; thence South 88°52'16" East a distance of 40.0 feet; thence North 1°07'44" East a distance of 16.0 feet; thence South 88°52'16" East a distance of 152.00 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING. Containing 6.983 acres, more or less. Reserving unto the Grantor, the southerly 40 feet and the easterly 40 feet thereof for street purposes. and that property commonly known as the Golf Course area, generally described as: The W½ of the SW¼ of the NE¼ of Section 30, T20S, R61E, MDB&M, save and except the Southerly 40 feet thereof for street purposes, con­taining 19.65 acres more or less. and the City accepts a deed from the School District for that property com­monly known as the John C. Fremont School area and accepts from the Clark County School District a payment of the sum of $22,505.20 in cash, repre­senting the difference in the appraised value of the respective property conveyed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Fountain. Mayor Baker announced that the Clark County Fair and Recreation Board is de­sirous of receiving from the City land in the John C. Fremont School area and in the Hyde Park area for the purpose of constructing a public swimming pool for recreational purposes. Commissioner Whipple moved that the City convey or lease to the Clark County Fair and Recreation Board for public recreational purposes the following des­cribed property: A certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situate in the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada and being a portion of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of the Southeast One- Quarter (SE¼) of Section 3, Township 21 South, Range 61 East, MDB&M, containing .548 acres more or less and A certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situate in the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada and being a portion of the Southeast One-Quarter (SE¼) of Section 31, Town­ship 20 South, Range 61 East, MDB&M, containing .545 acres more or less. on the condition that if the public recreational purposes are discontinued that the property revert back to the City of Las Vegas and with the under­standing that the City will have the right to lease these facilities for recreational purposes. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Fountain. The Commission reconsidered the acceptance of Virginia Manor #2 and the re­lease of bond. Mr. Giger, representing the Subdivider D. H. Hand was present and advised the Board that Mr. Hand was willing to put up a cash bond to cover the access street of Van Buren from "N" Street to Highland Drive, and re­quested the release of the bond. Commissioner Whipple moved the bond for Virginia Manor #2 subdivision be released subject to the Subdivider furnishing a bond to cover the access Street in an amount to be determined by the Engineering Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Fountain. The City Manager presented the request of the Las Vegas and Lake Mead Stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for permission to obtain some of the surplus effluent water from the Sewage Disposal Plant for irri­gation of their land adjacent to the Plant.
