Richard Lochrie, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Foreman of the LAS VEGAS MORNING SUN, a daily newspaper, of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached was continuously published in said newspaper for a period of one week from October 2k, 1955 to October 31, 1955 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates, to-wit: October 24, 31, 1955. ORDINANCE NO. 676 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGEMENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING, REMOVAL, CONVERSION, DEMOLITION, OCCUPANCY, EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS OR STRUC­TURES IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERS 130,166,188, 284, 303, 421, 526, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That a certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas, being marked and designated as "Uniform Building Code, 1955 Edition, Volume 1 and III", published by Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference be and the same is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Las Vegas, for the regulation of the erection, construction, enlargement, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the City of Las Vegas; providing penalties for the violation of such Building Code; and each and al 1 of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of such "Uniform Building Code, 1955 Edition, Volumes I and III", published by Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and amended, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this ordinance. SECTION 2. That said code is adopted subject, however, to the provisions of existing zoning ordinances of the City of Las Vegas relating to location of buildings, use of property, etc., which ordinances shall govern all matters in which there may develop a conflict between them and the said Building Code. Said Code is adopted subject further to the provisions of existing ordinances establishing and creating Fire Districts in the City of Las Vegas, which ordinances shall prevail in all matters in which there may develop a conflict between them and said Building Code, and subject further to the following amendments to said published code: SECTION 3. Section 205 of Volume I is hereby amended to read as follows: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, re­pair, move, improve, remove, convert, or demolish, equip, use, occupy, or maintain any building or structure in the City, or cause the same to be done contrary to or in violation of any of the provis­ions of this code. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is com­mitted, continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation such person shall be punish­able by a fine of not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail for not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 4. Section 303 of Chapter 3, Part 1, of said Uniform Building Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 303.
