Zinn Gentlemens Tour letter May 2? regarding water service to the Sears-Roebuek building at Sixth and Fremont: In aooordanoe with your verbal request, we made an inspection of the check valve on the fire line inside the building, and It appears to be properly installed, with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow. The gauge on this line shows 100 lbs., compared with 35 lbs. on the water main outside the building, and it would be impossible to maintain the 100 lbs, pressure on the fire line if the check valve were Installed backward. Our records indicate we installed five (5) 1-inch connections for ordinary service to the drinking fountains, toilets and wash basins in the building. Subsequently, two additional 2$-inoh connections were installed by the Baaber Company of Long Beaoh, on £une 16, 19^2, to serve the fire sprinkler system.
