Our engineering party has now completed the surrey of this tmif and report there is 8?.? acres in the portion to he sold, which Includes right-of-way for the Lae Vegas Creek. In discussing this location with the Basic Refractories Xnc., people yesterday, they brought up the subject of sufficient acreage, close within the city Units for the housing of their top onployees, which, as they said, would require possibly 126 houses for these officers of the company* I hare In Bind the action that was taken by the government in confiscating the drandview Addition, where the ownere asked $67,000 for their tract, but the dovernment took It over under condemnation proceedings, and X an advised deposited Only $15,000 in the bank, which they felt was a sufficient amount to pay for the drandview tract and if the government should do likewise with the 87*7 acres, which we are now contemplating sale of to Mr. dahlan, Mr* Clark, Mr* fongort and associates, they might undoubtedly fix a much lower price per acre on thle property, and following out your instructions in your hotter of the 8th, X have asked Mr* Adaas to a one out so that we can establish the valuation of this tract, the restrictions ws will insist upon and other matters. As soon as this Information is available, X will write you further, as 1 feel it is desirable that we expedite the matter if we are Intending to sell this acreage as per previous conversations* Tours very truly, wwm irwwax---- Special Representative
