Page 1 of 1 Henry and Anita Schuster From: "Ludwig Bauer" To: '"Henry and Anita Schuster'" Sent: Sunday, September 26, 2004 11:34 PM Subject: Minutes HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS GROUP OF SOUTHERN NEVADA Las Vegas, NV Minutes of the Executive Committee (Officers and Board of Directors) of the Holocaust Survivors Group of Southern Nevada (HSGSN) on September 19, 2004 at 2039 Renaissance Dr, Las Vegas Present: Henry Schuster, Anita Schuster, Harold Blitzer, Jean Lesser, Ludwig Bauer, David Berkovits, Sam Chinkes, Gina Klonoff, Henry Kronberg, Alexander Kuechel, Lydia Lebovic, Benjamin Lesser, Perry Oehlbaum Pola Zimmerman. 1. The Meeting was called to order by President Schuster at 10:30 AM. 2. The Minutes of the Board Meeting of February 22, 2004 were circulated. 3. Treasurer Jean Lesser reported that the current Account for HSGSN is $3,522, mainly from Dues. 4. Fund-raiser Lydia Lebovic reported that there was relatively little income from "Contributions". 5. President's Reports and Old Business a. President Schuster appointed Harold Blitzer as Chairman of the Nominating Committee to present a slate of Officers and Board Members for election. b. co-Presidents Henry and Anita Schuster announced that they will not stand for re-election. c. This announcement precipitated a serious discussion about the Future and Leadership for HSGNS. d. It was moved (Kronberg, seconded Ben Lesser) that future officers and members of the board should include members who are Descendants of Holocaust Survivors, currently belonging to the Group known as "2nd Generation of Holocaust Survivors." The motion passed. e. A motion was introduced (Ben Lesser, seconded Oehlbaum) that the current membership of the 10 members of the The Board (of HSGSN) should be increased to 12 members, to include at least 2 members of the Group known as "2nd Generation of Holocaust Survivors." The motion passed. f. The Board also moved to send $500 to the Holocaust Survivor Foundation USA. This Foundation is currently fighting for a more equitable distribution of funds from the Swiss Bank Account judgments. 6. Announcements President Schuster announced that there will be a buffet lunch for the group in the near future. Also, Mr. Adelson of the Venetian has been approached to sponsor the Chanukah Party for 2004. 7. Meeting adjourned at 12:00 PM.
