The Contractor agrees to comply w ith a l l v a lid adm in istrative reg u la ­tio n s res p ectin g the assumption o f l i a b i l i t y f o r the a fo resa id taxes and con tribu tion s and the supplying o f inform ation to the p rop erly designated a u th o ritie s . (b ) To pay a l l taxes on m aterials furnished or pur­chased by Contractor and used in the work, w ith the understanding th at the amount o f payments so made by the Contractor s h a ll be included as a part o f the co st o f the work as d efin ed under S ection 3 o f the attached con tra ct, su bject to the lim it a tio n imposed by the guaranteed maximum cost in said S ection 3 o f the con tract s tip u la te d . In the event the Owner s h a ll be requ ired by law to pay any o f such taxes on m aterials d ir e c t , the guaranteed maximum co st a fo re s a id s h a ll be reduced by the amount o f the payments so made by the Owner.
