> >{\l Los Angeles, September 8, 1943 80-334-1 Mr. R. 1. Titus (eo - Mr. W. C. Perkins Mr. Walter Bracken<& Mr. Frank Strong) Each year we are required to furnish the Auditor a statement showing the cost of operating and maintaining our water producing facilities at Las Vegas, Nevada, for the purpose of determining the amount to be charged the Las Vegas Land A Water Company for water furnished them In the subsequent year. We have always had difficulty at the end of the year accumulating these charges due to the fact they are not specifically Identified In the accounts and on the labor and material documents. In handling the matter with Auditor of Disbursements, Mr. F. J. Kreeek, It was suggested that In order to permit accumulation of these charges currently so that they can be Identified by the Auditor mho will present a monthly statement to me for cheek and certification, that an *SM series Work Order be assigned to which these charges could be posted, and he now advises that he concurs In this suggestion, and has asked that arrangements be made to Issue an ”3” series Work Order Immediately to cover expenses incurred during the balance of the current year, and then Issue a new *3* series Work Order on January first of each succeeding year. We cannot at this time determine the probable cost of operating and maintaining these water facilities. However, our statements in the past might be used as a basis for setting up an amount in the *3* series Work Order for this purpose. Zn the year 1942 we Indicated a total expense of #6496.23. However, these figures are now in course of cheek by the Auditor and may be reduced to approximately #6000. Inasmuch as the Auditor has asked for an *3* series Work Order for the accumulation of charges for the balance of the year 1943 it is suggested that an *3* series Work Order be issued in the amount of #2600. Will you please arrange to have Work Order issued accordingly.
