PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 3,4, and 5 Re: Driveways OF ORDINANCE NO. 343 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED ' AN ORDINANCE Amending portions REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF BUSINESS, COMMERCIAL Ord. 343 AND INDUSTRIAL DRIVEWAYS IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; REQUIRING PERMITS THEREFOR AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE THEREOF; FIXING AND IMPOSING THE FEES TO BE PAID UPON THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS; CANCELLING AND RE­VOKING ALL PERMITS FOR SUCH DRIVEWAYS HERETOFORE ISSUED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVOCATION OF PERMITS ISSUED HEREUNDER; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO.' PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AMENDING Re: Fire Prevention ORDINANCE NO. 308, PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION, PROVIDING OFFICERS THEREFOR AND DEFINING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES, AND PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS FOR FIRE PREVENTION AND LIFE SAFETY IN CONNECTION WITH HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AND PROCESSES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION AND REPEAL OF ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDIN­ANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH., was read to the Board by title and referred to Commissioners Clark and Whipple for report at the next meeting. PROPOSED ORDINANCES At this time Mr. Jack Holley appeared before the Board and made a request Re: Amending for certain amendments to Ordinance No. 349 relative to the issuance of portions of Ord. Race Horse book and Race Horae Book Wire service licenses. No. 349 After considerable discussion the proposed ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SUBDIVISION NUMBER (77) OF SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 349 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 6, SECTION 8, AS AMENDED, AND SECTION 11 OF ORDINANCE NO. 244 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: '"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS LICENSING, FOR PURPOSES OF REGULATION AND REVENUE EVERY KIND OF LAWFUL BUSINESS HEREINAFTER SPECIFIED, TRANSACTED OR CARRIED ON WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, STATE OF NEVADA: FIXING THE RATES OF LICENSE TAX UPON THE SAME AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SAID LICENSE TAX, AND A PUNISHMENT FOR CARRYING ON OR CONDUCTING ANY SUCH BUSINESS WITHOUT A LICENSE, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERED 1,2,4,13,14,35,48,62,74,75, 81,95,102,105,108,112,117,145,184,192 AND 243."', which had been presented by Mr. Holley was read by title and referred to a committee composed of Commissioners Moore and Whipple for report. GAMING APPLICATIONS The following applications were presented to the Board for their 3rd Quarter — consideration. Renewals & Addt'l Norman M. Cilix Town Barbecue Thereafter Commissioner Clark moved that the foregoing applications for gaming licenses for the 3rd quarter of 1948 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, "hippie and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. LIQUOR APPLICATIONS Commissioner Whipple moved that the application of the Esquire Bar, Esquire Bar -- Brandhorst Inc. W. I. South, 120 South 2nd Street., for a retail Walter I. South tavern liquor license be referred to the police department for investigation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin. Harold's Cafe Commissioner Clark moved that the application of Harold's Cafe, Harold H. J. EWing J. Ewing, 410 Bonanza, for a Retail Restaurant Beverage license be referred to the police department for investigation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Baskin.
