I agree.7 1 Los Angeles, April 5, 1954. 7334 MEMO WHJ Received telephone report this AM from J. H. Hamilton, Chief Clerk to Div. Engr. Jurden, that at 8:45 AM today one employe was killed and two injured working for Darby Company, Contractor erecting the 300,000 gallon water tank in shop grounds at Las Vegas. H. Jentis, Helper, was killed, Foreman C. J. Rusher and Helper Earl Dungey were injured. Work was in charge of Supt. C. F. Sheckles. Helper Earl Dungey was operating the hoist which was lifting a boom 40 feet long and 30H in diameter when the boom slipped and dropped into the cone which forms the bottom of the tank causing collapse of the entire structure. Understand they had no safety brake on the hoist. L.C.C R. L. A. APR 6 1954
