Please note the attached letter from Fire Chief Case* making application for a site on which to erect a new fire station cm Union Pacific property at the intersection of Bonanza Bead and Ranoho Road, together with a print showing the location. At the present time the City has no fire station west of the railroad traoke and In order to provide better fire protection the Commissioners have authorised the construction of a new #30,000 substation If a suitable location can be obtained* They feel that If the site referred to it available, it would permit prompt novel of fire fighting equipment not only to the West Side but also to West Charleston BOLvd* The reason for requesting 1.43 acres is so that there will be room not only for the construction of the firs station but also for ereotlon of elevated ladders on which to train rookies and for similar equipment. Will appreciate your consideration. Las Vegas » October 5, 1950 A. M. Folger
