I was happily surprised to discover my

School closed Thursday at noon

for conference vacation. I could not

attend conference for I had too much an to do. We spent that afternoon washing d yesterday I put in the whole day drawing. In physiology, we have to draw every figure in the text, and each member is required to make a special map, for the library, besides. Then each member of the astronomy class has to make a map for the library every week. I was working at my special drawing nearly all day but I am quite well satisfied with it, and am glad it is done, seeing it had to be made. It
seems like wasting time to me for it dosen’t learn me anything. To-day I have been studying, and writting another composition. We will not have Sunday school in the Academy in the morning, so I am going to study again, go to church, and in the evening we are going out to supper. Miss Stella Jakis has invited us to take supper with her. She is not a student now, but she is a lovely girl. I wish you could have met her while you were here and I think you would have formed the

Last week Grammar A challenged Rhetoric A for a contest in oral composition. We accepted the challenge, and the contest will be between ten members from each class
and will be given in room D. Tuesday evening. Prof. Nelson talks of giving a recital, or an entertainment the last week of school. He will choose ten members of his elocution class to assiq, him. We are just going to have a fine time the last week of school.
No studying. Just commencement exercises all the week. But there is so much work to be done before then, besides examinations. I just wish you could be here the last week and find out what kind of people we are, but of course, that will not be possible as your school will not be out. What
date will it close? If I ever knew I have forgotten.
There are only four students in the graduating class this year.

The folks failed to send me Harry's address. They must have forgotten it. I received a letter from Chrissie Whitney last evening and she said that Harry and Ed were out on tthe ranch.
Clara tells me of a genuine surprise party some of the folks gave Pa and Ma a while ago. About thirty besides relatives, went there with baskets of good things, and marched in while the folks were at supper. Clara an<3. Lee knew all about it. They had hot supper and with two tables the length of the dining room all were not accomidated. They stayed until two o'clock in the morning and just had a fine time
