    BID NO. 52.11- Charleston Blvd. Intersection Improvement payroll warrants SERVICE & MATERIAL warrants MINUTES BID NO. 52.12 Lamp Contract LaWRENCE LOVE TRaCT Release of Bonds ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager, Assistant City Manager and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby admit due service of the foregoing Notice of Special Meeting: WENDELL BUNKER, Commissioner REeD WHIPPLE, MAYOR PRO TaM REX A JARRETT, Commissioner WILLIAM PECCOLE, Commissioner C.W. SHELLEY, CITY MANAGER HOWARD W. CANNON, CITY ATTORNEY DORA LORD, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER (CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING) A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held this 11 th day of a August, 1952, was called to order at the hour of 4:00 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple with the following members present: Mayor Pro Tem Reed Whipple Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex a. Jarrett Commissioner William Peccole City Manager C.W. Shelley Ass't City Mgr. Dora Lord City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent:Mayor C.D. Baker City Attorney H.W. Cannon Commissioner Bunker moved that Bid No. 52.11 for the installation of Charleston Boulevard inter­section improvements be awarded to the low bidder J.M. Murphy Construction Co. in the total amount of $4,199.64. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent:Mayor Baker. There being no further business to come before this special meeting the meeting adjourned. Las Vegas, Nevada August 20, 1952 A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held this 20th day of August, 1952 was called to order at the hour of 7:50 P.M. by His Honor Mayor C.D. Baker withe the following members present: Mayor C.D. Baker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner William Peccole Commissioner Reed Whipple City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Manager Q.W. Shelley Asst. City Mgr. Dora Lord City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Whipple moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1329 to 1334 inclusive in the net amount of $33,475.65 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote:Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent:Commissioner Bunker, Commissioner Whipple moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 2305 to 2309 inclusive in the total amount of $33,163.80 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Whipple moved the minutes of August 6, 1952, be approved by reference and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote:Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent:Commissioner Bunker, This being the time set for the opening of Bid No. 52.12 for the furnishing of electric lamps to the City, bids were received from the following firms: ZELLERBACK PAPER COMPANY Blake, Moffit & Towne TAYLOR WHOLESALE ELECTRIC COMPANY Osborne & Kitchen Inc. OSIPAW ELECTRIC SUPPLY CO. Luxor Lighting Products Inc. Electric City Appliance Graham-Reynolds Electric Co. Clark County Wholesale Saviers Electric Commissioner Peccole moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager for tabulation and recommendation at the next regular meeting on September 3, 1952. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Peccole moved that the $9,909.30 Bond filed by Wells Cargo Inc. for street improvements in the Lawrence Love Tract be released.
