I agree.June 4,2007 Dear Congregants: This letter follows the congregational meeting o f Sunday May 21, 2007. It is unfortunate that would should have been a discussion regarding the Adat Ari El merger devolved into little more than a shouting match. After discussion, further review and based upon the advice o f counsel, the Board has determined that the vote taken May 2 approving the merger with Adat Ari El will stand. Accordingly, there will be no re-vote, reconsideration or consideration o f other or different potential suitors. As many o f you know, on Tuesday May 22, we had the opportunity to meet the new Rabbi. The response and enthusiasm were overwhelming. Notwithstanding the contentious nature o f May 21sf s congregational meeting, you greeted the new Rabbi with an open mind and felt as I did - excited about the future. Finally, I would like to address some issues that exist and answer some questions I know many o f you have. We are neither losing our assets, nor are our assets being taken from us. Our facilities will continue to exist, and we will continue to attend services and other events in those facilities just as we have previously. All members in good standing will remain members in good standing, and all life members will remain life members. The merger with Adat Ari El will facilitate growth and allow us to become the preeminent reform congregation on the West side. We anticipate enjoying a long, fruitful and productive relationship.
