LEETE, Treas., Los Angeles, Cal. A Las Vegas, Nev, July 29, 1919, Mr. J. Ross Clark, President, Las Vegas Land & Water Co., Los Angeles, Cal. Dear Sir:- S ometime a,go I spoke to you concerning the raising of the wages of iadies here in the rooming house, but was able at that time to let the matter rest as it was. However, I am afraid that if I do not advance the wages some we will lose some of our employees who have been with us a number of years. As you are aware, we now are onljr paying the chamber maids $50.00 a month and the housekeeper $15.00. I would, therefore, recommend that we raise the two chamber maids to $55.00 per month, and the housekeepe# to $20.00. I believe if this is done that they will all be perfectly satisfied, and we will have no further trouble; and in this connection on account of being required to raise the wages I would recommend that we raise the room rent $1.00 per room, which would give us an increase of $49.00 per month, as all of our rooms are rented and have been for the past year. Will you kindly advise me.
