Commissioner Moore moved the City Manager be authorized to see that invitations to bid on three automobiles to be purchased by the City of Las Vegas be sent out. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker Commissioner Peccole moved that all plans and maps on Subdivisions be referred to the City Engineer for approval before presenting plans and maps to the City Commission. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Moore moved that action on the application of Sam Ingalls dba Las Vegas Loan Co., 126 South 1st Street for a pawnbroker’s license be deferred until September 7, 1950. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Mr. Hayslip, Rating Engineer for the Pacific Rating Bureau appeared before the Board at this time. Mr. Hayslip requested that the Board direct the City Engineer or person responsible for the issuance of Building Permits, not to permit any violation of the building code in Fire Districts. He explained that such a violation may cause an increase in insurance rates in the City of Las Vegas. At this time City Attorney Howard W. Cannon arrived. Commissioner Whipple moved the City Manager be authorized to sell an Austin-Western Grader belonging to the City for $1,000.00, payment to be made on the best terms available. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. At this time members of the North Las Vegas Commission were present to discuss the matter of North Las Vegas using the Sewage Plant facilities of the City of Las Vegas. City Engineer of the City of North Las Vegas stated that they were willing to accept the recommendation of the City Engineer of Las Vegas contained in his report dated July 20, 1950, providing the City of Las Vegas will pay to North Las Vegas for the effluent that passes through the North Las Vegas line. Discussion was held and it was decided that further investigation would be made and this matter brought up again next week. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Whipple moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker.
