STARR Mr. Red Skelton c/o Pacht, Ross, Wasne, Attorneys~at~Law 6535 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles, California Bernard and Sears Dear Mr. Skelton: Re: National Foundation for Asthmatic Children Sahuaro School Mr. Dexter C. Gardner of Vincennes, Indiana, made it possible for me to send this letter to you. He is an old friend of mine from Knox County, Indiana, where, of course you know, he has lived all of his life. I was raised in Knox County near Wheatland, specifically, in Steen Township. Unfortunately, I was unable to be in Vincennes at the time of the dedication of the Red Skelton Bridge and your visit which certainly was one of the great events in the history of that community. Mr. Gardner told me about your visit, about going to Illinois to get you, about the events in Vincennes, and, finally, about your return trip to Chicago. You are a good Hoosier, and you certainly showed the good old Knox County spirit by taking back Indiana watermelons and tomatoes to California. They are the best in the worldI Ih my conversation with Mr. Gardner, I talked about the Sahuaro School for Asthmatic Childrenwhich is operated by --the National Foundation for Asthmatic Children, and of which, I am the Medical Director. This is a non-profit organization which accepts all kinds of children and keeps them for at least two years and sends them home more able to cope with the problems of life. Material is enclosed which describes the school and shows pictures which I am sure you will be happy to see, especially
