Las Vegas - November 13, 1938 W-20 Mr. Leo A. MoNamee General Attorney Las Vegas* Nevada Dear Leo: /Referring to my letter November 10th to General Auditor, copy to you, regarding Increase in license rate for Water Company and Rooming House which we will have to pay by November 13th. Mr. Toland advisee by wire the voucher in the amount of |840 covering fourth quarter of 1938 was mailed me yesterday for delivery. Mr. Bennett suggests to deliver the same with a letter of protest. Will you kindly prepare such a letter addressed to the City Clerk or the City Treasurer, whichever it Is proper, so that we will have grounds for recovery of this amount if it is found that the Ordinance is illegal* A year or two ago when we were protesting tax valuations on behalf of the Railroad Company the letter was presented in duplicate, one copy of which the County Treasurer signed in acknowledgment. 1 think we should handle the letter of protest to the City in the same manner* Very truly yours, WALTERR. BRACKEN, Vice-President and Agent.
