January 3 1 , 1952 ^01 South Second Street Las Vegas, Nevada Mr. Frank MeCully 2121 S. 5th Street Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Sir: Referring to conversation few days ago concerning construction of water mains to serve Blocks 2 and 6, Tract 1, Boulder Dam Homesite Addition, Las Vegas. To adequately serve the property we estimate it will require 1^50 feet 6" and 120 feet 8" cast iron water mains. Examination of the site indicates that rock will be encountered through both Blocks. The estimated cost of constructing the mains is $>70^-0, which amount pursuant to Nevada Public-Service Commission Rule to refund. 9 will be subject In addition the city requires installation of 3 fire hydrants to provide adequate fire protection which hydrants it will be necessary that you secure at your own expense from the city. The estimated cost of constructing 6" fire hydrant connections to serve these hydrants is #450, which amount is not subject to refund. As I verbally advised you there is pending before the Nevada Public Service Commission Case No. 121^ regarding application of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company to amend its Rule 9*5 to read as follows: (a) The Company will make no extensions of its mains to provide water service in areas of the City of Las Vegas not theretofore served by water mains of the Company subsequent to December 1, 1951j unless a contract for such extension of mains under the existing rules of the Company shall have been entered into prior to December 1, 1951.
