Q« When a person makes an application to secure a permit from the State, do you have an opportunity to object? A. Yes. Q. Did you or your Company make an objection when Mr, Searles applied for a permit? A. As I remember, when th® well was first drilled was before that arrangement was made. X have no recollection as to whether we made any objection to the drilling of the well ini* tially or net. the original well, you remember, was not much of a well. It was, when it was deepened later, and X am net sure whether the deepening conditions come under that regulation or not. Q. Did you make any attempt to object to the deepening of the well? A. As I remember, we weren’t consulted on that; if we were, I never heard of it. Q. You don’t know whether a notice was published giving you an opportunity to object. A. We.
