REPORT OF AUDIT ACCOUNTS For the year 1946 At this time the report of the Audit of accounts of the City of Las Vegas for the Calendar year 1946 as submitted by George H. Wood, was presented to the Board and ordered filed. CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY Commissioner Baskin moved that the City of Las Vegas withdraw from the Clark County Housing Authority and proceed to organize a City Housing Authority, for the purpose of taking over Kelso Turner project and the City Clerk is hereby directed to so notify Langden W. Post, Director Region Six, Federal Public Housing Authority, San Francisco, Calif. of said action by wire. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Corradetti. C.A.A. LEASE CONTRACT At this time the City Manager presented the Lease Contract No. C. 6 C. A. -1158 C.6 C.A.-1158 between the Department of Commerce, Civil Aero- nautics Administration and the City of Las Vegas for the operation of a radio range control quarters and teletype station at Mc- Carran Field which said lease expires on June 30, 1947. After some discussion Mayor Cragin referred the lease to the Legal Department for the reason the City has agreed to turn over the Airport to the Army in the near future and requested an opinion from the City Attorney's office as to whether or not said lease can be terminated when and if the Airport is turned over to the Army. CLAIM Commissioner Baskin moved that the claim of C. B. Bagnall in the C. B. Bagnall sum of $21,275.07 be approved then satisfactory to the City Manager and the Comptroller and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign said warrant. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioner Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Corradetti. CLAIM Commissioner Baskin moved that the claim of Tom Hargrove in the Tom Hargrove sum of $125.00 covering the use of his personal car in City work over a 5 month period at the rate of $25.00 per month be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign a warrant for same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Corradetti. APPLICATION Commissioner Baskin moved that the request of Gene Carda to operate Gene Carda a playland on City owned property on North 5th Street be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Corradetti. EASEMENT No. Commissioner Baskin moved that certain Easement No. "N" L.D. 1779 "N" L.D. 1779 between the City of Las Vegas and the Union Pacific Railroad Co. dated Feb. 10th, 1947 be referred to the legal department for approval as to legality, thereof, after which the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to sign same on behalf of the City. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by unanimous vote. SIDEWALK INSTALLATION Commissioner Clark moved that the Board order the installation of sidewalks at the following described site and that bids be secured for the installation of same. H. Westlake 410 So. 4th Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Corradetti. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMMEND SECTION 30, SECTION Amending No. 170 33, Section 36, AS AMENDED, AND SECTION 94, AS AMENDED, OF Traffic ORDINANCE NUMBER 170 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, REGULATING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS; ESTABLISHING A CENTRAL TRAFFIC DISTRICT AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE BREACH OF ANY OF THE RULES OR REGULATIONS REGARDING TRAFFIC IN THIS ORDINANCE PROVIDED, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NOS. 66, -68, -69, -86, -90, -94, -120, -124, -125,-127, -141, and -143 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH," was read by title to the Board and was referred to Commissioners Baskin and Clark for a report at the next regular meeting.
