M, Jeffers, President, Omaha, Heforaaka* Osar Siri I Please note the enclosed newspaper clipping from last night*® Revlew-Journal with regard to the proposed sale of acreage between North Main Street and North Fifth Street, to Al Oahlan, Ed Clark and associates* 1 advised Cahlan today that the mor with regard to major oil companies stopping this transaction were entirely grou&lees, to the best of my knowledge, and that he oould have secured authentic information on this subject if he had taken the trouble to ask* the matter is referred to In some detail in Mr* MeAuliffefa report of May 30th, page 4, and you will recall m discussed it and looked over the ground during your last visit here* Oahlan advised me today he and fils associates had secured the assistance of the State Highway Department with regard to extending the Clark Avenue underpass under Highway 91, to enter this tract at the prolongation of Second Street, if. the deal were consummated, and that they are ready to agree to restric­tions regarding planning, minimum cost of hemes, etc* 1 will appreciate any information you can give me with regard to the present status of this proposed sale, as Oahlan*s associates are somewhat upset over the newspaper article.
