My Commission Expires April 14, 1954 EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 425 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE AUTHORIZATION AND ISSUANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS SOUTH MAIN STREET LIGHTING BONDS IN THE AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $12,488.00 TO COVER CERTAIN UNPAID ASSESSMENTS HERETOFORE LEVIED AND CONFIRMED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING FOR THE WORK OF MAKING IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS BY INSTALLING COMPLETE STREET LIGHTING FACILITIES ON CER- STREETS AND PORTIONS OF STREETS IN SAID CITY AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT AS CREATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 409, AND TO ISSUE AND SELL THE BONDS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS THEREFOR, SAID BONDS TO BE KNOWN AS LAS VEGAS SOUTH MAIN STREET LIGHTING BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE SAID UNPAID ASSESSMENT BY DIVIDING THE SAME INTO TEN (10) ANNUAL INSTALLMENTS AND PLACING SAID INSTALLMENTS ON THE TAX ROLL OF CLARK COUNTY AND COLLECTING THE SAME IN THE SAME MANNER AS STATE AND COUNTY TAXES ARE COLLECTED BY LAW, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: Section 1. That for the purpose of paying for the installation of complete street lighting facilities on and along all the streets embraced within the Street Improvement Assessment District #100-7, the particular lots and parcels of land and the persons to whom assessed being particularly described and set forth in the Assessment Roll on file in the City Clerk's office, for which special assessments have heretofore been levied and confirmed by the Board of Commissioners, and not paid in full by said owners of property on said streets heretofore named and in compliance with and by virtue and authority of the Legislature of the State of Nevada, approved March 16, 1911, entitled "An Act to incorporate the town of Las Vegas in Clark County, and defining the boundaries thereof, and to authorize the establishing of a City Government therefor, and other matters relating thereto, as amended." The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to issue in the name of the City of Las Vegas, twelve (12) bonds of the denomination of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and one (1) bond of the denomination of Four Hundred Eighty-Eight Dollars ($488.00), each bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed seven per cent (7%) per annum, both principal and interest being payable at the office of the City Treasurer in coin or currency of the United States of America which, on the respective dates of payment, is legal tender, all dated as of August 1, 1950, numbered consecutively from one upwards and to the extent such bonds are issued, maturing serially as follows: Bond Numbers Maturity Date Total 1 August 1, 1951 $ 488.00 2 August 1, 1952 $1,000.00 3 August 1, 1953 $1,000.00 4 August 1, 1954 $1,000.00 5 August 1, 1955 $1,000.00 6 August 1, 1956 $1,000.00 7 August 1, 1957 $1,000.00 8 & 9 August 1, 1958 $2,000.00 10 & 11 August 1, 1959 $2,000.00 12 & 13 August 1, 1960 $2,000.00 Bonds numbered 6 to 13, both inclusive, maturing on and after August 1, 1956, are subject to redemption in inverse numerical order at the option of the City of Las Vegas on the first day of August, 1956, or on any interest payment date thereafter prior to maturity at a price equal to the principal amount thereof with accrued interest to the redemption date.
