BID BY SPARLING" A bid proposal for purchase of a TD 18 Bull Clam Tractor from Sparling-Fowler-Murphy, Inc. was FOWLER & MORPHY read and ordered held in abeyance until the City Manager returns from vacation. However, the T.D. 18 Bull Clam City Clerk was instructed to write them saying the City is interested and would consider the Tractor proposal after Mr. Shelley returns. LETTER FROM PLANNING A letter from Mr. Fred Eaton, Planning Engineer, was read. COMMISSION Commissioner Peccole moved it be referred to the City Attorney for reply. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Moore. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 16 OF ORDINANCE NO. 203 OF THE CITY OF LAS Amendment to VEGAS AS AMENDED AND ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISTRIBUTION AND CONTROL OF INTOXICA- Ordinance No. 203 TING AND ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS AND BEVERAGES; REGULATING PLACES WHERE AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS SAID Section 16 INTOXICATING AND ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS AND BEVERAGES MAY BE KEPT, SOLD, GIVEN AWAY OR OTHERWISE DIS- 1|; /' TRIBUTED: PROVIDING FOR PERMITS AND LICENSES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS OR­DINANCE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH," ALSO REFERRED TO AS CHAPTER 16, SECTION 16 OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, was read by title and referred to Commis- sioners Bunker and Peccole for recommendation. APPLICATION .FOR Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Frank Dio Dato, 602 South 5th Street, Standard LIQUOR LICENSE Market for a Retail Package liquor license be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; Commissioner Peccole passed his vote; noes, none. Absent; Commissioner Moore. NELLIS AIR BASE Commissioner Peccole moved the City Clerk be instructed to notify the Assistant Secretary of the MEETING Air Force, Harry Stewart, to send a representative to Las Vegas to work out an agreement with the City of Las Vegas on the deed to the land for the proposed housing project at the Nellis Air Force Base. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Moore. There being no further business to come before this meeting Commissioner Bunker moved the meeting adjourn. ATTEST: APPROVED: Chief Deputy City Clerk Mayor ***************** Las Vegas, Nevada November 8, 1950 A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held this 8th day of November, 1950 was called to order at the hour of 3:40 P.M. by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin with the following members present: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple; City Attorney Howard W. Cannon and Chief Deputy City Clerk Betty Funston. Absent: City Clerk Shirley Ballinger and City Manager C. W. Shelley. PAYROLL WARRANTS Commissioner Moore moved that payroll warrants Nos. 1159 to 1162 in the net amount of $24,814.22 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. A. J. SCHANKEL - The matter of a claim for damages of Mr. A. J. Schankel was presented to the Board by his attorney Claim for Damages Mr. Harry Claiborne, for their consideration. Commissioner Moore moved the claim be referred to the City Attorney. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ZONE CHANGE - At this time the letter of the Regional Planning Commission under date of November 8, 1950 concern- SE¼ of Section 35 ing the request of O. W. Clark for a zone change of the N½ of SW¼ of SE¼ of Section 35, T 20 S., R 61 E., was read to the Board. Commissioner Whipple moved that a public hearing on this proposed zone change be set for November 29, 1950 at the hour of 3:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ZONE CHANGE - At this time the letter of the Regional Planning Commission under date of November 8, 1950 concern- Mt. View Subdivision ing the request for a zone change from RA to RE to accomodate this subdivision was read to the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved that a public hearing on this proposed zone change be set for November 29, 1950 at the hour of 3: 30 P.M.
