I agree.PROMOTION REPORT re: Sands-Malibu Outrigger Holiday ,/T X* ?╜$l &-*L w# Last October the Sands sponsored an event called the "Sands - Malibu Outrigger Holiday," which was originally brought to our attention by Joe Buck, who races in this class sailboat. The event attracted twelve boats from Los Angeles and two local entries and the resultant race attracted about four-hundred spectators. In total, approximately 35 persons were guests at the Sands due to the event. In the group were some very good people, including a television writer, several airline pilots, an attorney and several businessmen. In short, it is a well-to-do group. Since the event, a good number of these people have been repeat customers, in fact one couple was here only a few weeks ago. Publicity-wise, the local newspapers each carried pictures and several stories on the races and there were numerous column items. There were also frequent mentions on local radio and television. In addition, the Santa Monica and Long Beach newspapers (Outlook and Independent) both carried good stories and both said they would like to do more this year. Last week, one of the local columns mentioned the races and the result was a call from the UPI stringer who said he thought that
