Congregation Ner Tamid The Reform Synagogue of Las Vegas ' 2761 Emerson Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89121 Telephone: (702) 733-6292 April 21, 1987 Senator Chic Hecht U.S. Senate Washington, DC. 20510 Dear Senator Hecht, On behalf of the membership of Congregation Ner Tamid, I'd like to convey our sincere appreciation for your efforts by intervening on our behalf with the Bureau of Land Management. As you know, the Bureau of Land Management has decided in our favor, and we were able to purchase our 5-acre parcel at 5% of its appraised value. Our congregation feels that because of the immediate response made by you and your staff to our problem, we were able to secure permanent financing prior to the deadline that had been set by Valley Bank. Purchasing our property was a prerequisite to obtaining the permanent financing. The Jewish community is delighted with our progress, and is well aware of the crucial role that you played in enabling us to survive. We are having a Membership Appreciation Dinner on the evening of May 10, 1987, to be held at our Temple facility. If you are going to be in town at that time, I'd like to extend an invitation to you and your family to attend.
